a new dawn - a vision of hope

Geoff Lucock retires

After the formal Trust meeting and while enjoying fellowship, Chairman Ian Parker expressed his sadness that after many wonderful years working together on the running of the Plymouth Motor Show and for ten years as Literacy in a Box Treasurer, a very successful business partnership with Geoff was to be concluded by his imminent retirement as a Trustee.  Ian read comments from Grace, the Literacy Box Ambassador in Lusaka:

'Good afternoon Ian,
Oh I am so sorry that Geoff is retiring.  We will miss him so.  Please do tell Geoff that the children from Zambia and all of us are so very, very grateful for the tremendous support we have received from him, as he worked with the Literacy Box Trust.  The textbooks he made sure we got from Longmans for the children, the posters he sent from his daughter to improve the classrooms, we cannot even begin to say what a pillar of support he has been to us as he worked with you at the Literacy Box Trust.  It has been such a great honour for us to have known him.  Please pass all our love to him and we wish him the very best in everything he endeavours to do.'

and then by way of thanks, Ian presented Geoff with a framed montage of images reflecting his time working and having fun with Literacy in a Box.
